THANK YOU FOR EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED AND MADE THIS GREAT WEEKEND POSSIBLE. STAY TUNED TO THIS SITE FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CREATING ENLIGHTENED SOCIETY EVENT, MAY 1-4, 2014!
A WEEKEND OF TALKS, DISCUSSION, SOCIAL ACTION, ART, MUSIC & COMMUNITY
• How can we create a world based on
peace, compassion, and dignity?
• Is it possible to be
appreciative, and at peace and still relate with the social and ecological
challenges of our world?
• How does mindfulness and spiritual
practice relate with social action?
We spent the weekend exploring
questions such as these with some extraordinary leaders from different aspects
of society. This event attempted to unite two
essential elements that lead to a more compassionate, sustainable, and wise
world - the personal and the social. Participants explored how our
engagement in our lives can deepen our personal experience and help bring about
social transformation.

Shambhala Vision is rooted in the principle that every human being has a fundamental nature of basic goodness. This nature can be developed in daily life so that it radiates out to family, friends, community and society.
"The
fact that our society is experiencing a high level of fear and doubt is
not a signal for humanity to give up, but rather to engage further with
our enlightened tendencies… A universal culture of kindness,
self-reflection, and bravery will create a world where we are all in our
diverse ways perpetually cultivating the wisdom and strength of
humanity." -- Sakyong Mipham.
Host of the event and keynote
speaker, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche is the head of Shambhala, a global network of
contemplative communities, grounded in the power of creating enlightened
society in everyday life and the inherent goodness of humanity.
